A steel ball hot rolling mill designed by LYC Equipment Research Institute and fabricated by LYC Equipment Manufacturing Company was installed and tested successfully.  Compared with traditional steel ball cold heading machines, LYC¨s machine is characterized by it¨s easy operation, high output rate, material savings and lower power consumption.   

LYC¨s steel ball hot rolling mill consists of a heating furnace, a trimming machine and two rolling machines.  It omits the cold drawing process and consequently material is saved, flash rings are eliminated and the grinding efficiency of the steel balls is markedly improved.  On an average,  material expense is reduced by $84.56 per ton and production efficiency improved by over 20% compared with the traditional cold heading technique.
